Each time we were in Virginia visiting relatives, we would go to the original Emerson Creek Pottery and thought the concept would really go over in Oswego. Like
in Virginia, getting to the shop in Oswego is a drive down a long gravel road to a charming, peaceful setting where people come and can spend hours shopping, sitting on a rocker on the porch, even packing a lunch and enjoying the open fields surrounding the shop.
We took a 100 year-old farmhouse, backing up to 50 acres of prairie grasses and wildflowers, and converted the house into a great little shop. The hand painted pottery is all American made in Virginia, lead free and microwave/dishwasher safe. There are 20 different patterns with each pattern featuring tableware and place settings and accessories ranging from soap dishes to decorative pieces such as lamps. There is also a huge assortment of planting pots both in different pottery patterns and other designs as well. All products are at very reasonable prices.
Being the only main distributor of Emerson Creek Pottery in the Midwest, people are sure to find unique gifts and house wares. The farm setting and friendly atmosphere has customers coming back again and again, bringing their families and friends along. Word is spreading and our clientele list is growing constantly. We are expanding and converting another barn for a place to have bridal showers, meetings and special gatherings. Plans are being made to soon add a tea room for lunches on certain days. It is a beautiful, peaceful place to relax, enjoy the view and enjoy the unique products Emerson Creek Pottery of Oswego has to offer.
